Heart, Humor, Honesty
If laughter truly is the best medicine, then Anna Dechant, known to her online followers as Inahan, might just be one of the best healers around. A proud Filipina mom based in Germany, Anna has turned her daily life into a source of motivation, laughter, and connection for thousands of viewers who find comfort in her real, unfiltered moments.
What started as a simple hobby, recording snippets of her day-to-day life in Germany, soon became something much more meaningful. “I began vlogging just for fun, to capture memories,” Anna shares. “But when people started watching my videos and telling me they laughed, learned something, or felt less alone, I realized it could have a real impact.”
“Vlogging has become a natural part of my day, I usually do it spontaneously, like when I’m cleaning, walking with my daughter, or noticing something interesting about the weather or the language I use.” – Anna
Her viewers adore the authentic feel of her content, no forced perfection, no scripted scenes. Just real-life snippets of a mom balancing work, family, and creativity. Between part-time work, daycare runs, and chores, she still finds time to shoot, edit, and share her moments with the world.
“It’s not always easy,” she admits. “Balancing everything can be overwhelming, but I focus on small, realistic goals. Having a supportive husband and including my daughter in some of my videos helps keep things fun instead of stressful.”
Being in front of the camera also means being open to criticism, but Anna takes it all in stride. “Criticism or bashing will always be there, but I usually respond in a funny way. Humor helps me stay positive.”
She’s learned to work creatively with what she has, no fancy equipment, no studio lights, just authenticity. “It’s not about the gear, it’s about the story,” she says.
Through her vlogs, Anna has found more than just an audience, she’s found connection. “I’ve met people from all over who share similar experiences,” she smiles. “Some even became close friends like Reygen and Ellen. It’s amazing how a simple video can connect lives.”
Her content also bridges cultures, helping fellow Filipinos in Germany (and beyond) feel a sense of belonging. “It’s heartwarming when kababayans message me, saying they relate to my videos. Even if we’re far from home, we can laugh and learn together.”
For Anna, fulfillment doesn’t come from views or likes. It comes from knowing her content makes a difference. “Seeing my viewers laugh and feel uplifted means everything to me,” she says. “If I can make someone smile or feel less alone, then I’ve done my job.”
And what does she hope her viewers take away from her videos? “That there’s joy in the little things,” she says softly. “Life isn’t perfect, but if we can find laughter and positivity in everyday moments, that’s already something worth sharing.”
“Vlogging isn’t just about capturing moments, It’s about sharing stories that connect us all.”
